It seems some benchmarks of the A14 are coming out and its not that much faster than the A13. Of course we will need to wait for the final results but I think we can use this thread to share what comes out as it does, this can also help people who seem to be upset with the iPad Air 2020 coming with the A14 lol.

So far this has come out, take note this is on the supposed upcoming iPhone 12 Pro Max so results may different a little in the iPad Air 2020:

Is the A9X really that bad?
Not at all. The newer iPads are just much faster (A12X vs A9x: ~2x single core and ~4x multi-core). Given it's been 4-5 years already, it's impressive how well the A9X has held up.

If you compare the 1st gen Pro to the iPad 3, A9X vs A5X was ~10x single core and ~9x multi-core.

Honestly, I've had it for four years and were it not for using Lightroom and wanting 256GB instead of 128GB I could easily get a couple more years out of it.
Makes sense, I felt the same way about the A8X in my iPad Air 2, literally all it needed was a new battery and it could keep going, but my needs have increased so I upgraded to the 2020 iPad Pro 11”, huge leap in performance ?

Looks like single core is up ~50% for A14 chip compared to A12Z. Since 2 gens newer, it's reasonable.

My Chinese isn’t great, all I can see is for a chip from 2018 the A12X is a Monster. And will be dominant until 2021 at the very least an A14X with more cores.

30-40%. Yeah it’s understandable. We shouldn’t notice the difference with current apps, maybe in the future updated apps.
