Hello!
My 2016 needs a space bar, and I have a new one, ready to install. I bought an Ebay item, and it comes with the white nylon 'base' that the key snaps into, and the key with its base already installed.
So: the small plastic clips that snap into the steel bars seem fragile and easily damaged...is there a 'trick' to getting everything together, and / or instructions that will guide me?
As always: Thanks!

UPDATE!

So: there are three ( 3 ) transparent plastic parts that were originally affixed with double-sided, clear tape. Once the spacebar, itself, and the butterfly assembly are out, you'll clearly see the 3 parts. Lift each part up / remove them / remove any tape still there / clean surfaces with alcohol / cut NEW PIECES of your own, double-sided tape ( I stick a piece to a piece of glass, and cut-to-size with a VERY sharp blade, and use fine tweezers to lift off the glass, and place where I want them ).

Arrange the butterfly where it should be ( the 'top' is DIFFERENT than the 'bottom'...you'll need to do your own online work here, and confirm which is which...a mistake can ruin the hinges / snaps on the actual spacebar...sorry I cannot be more precise, but I am not 100% certain which way I arranged mine, and I'm not going to take it apart and look! ), then just put the 3 clear parts back, being sure that all the white pins go where they should...you'll see what I mean as they're dropping into place. Adjustment is 100% possible here, as the tape is grabby, but not THAT grabby!

Once everything's in place, the butterfly should move a little when you press on the hinges at the far ends. It may not seem like much movement, but if the bar is free to move at all, that seems enough.

Be sure the bar is set in place with the hinges at bottom / clips on top. CHECK YOURSELF TO CONFIRM!

Hinges go in first / snaps follow..., with the hinges going in a little above the holes, then slid down until they hook.

SO: the trick here is simple ( ! ): you just need to remove the 3 clear parts, and make sure they're secure upon reassembly. It all drops together very easily, once you 'Think Like Apple', and appreciate that it was stuck together to begin with, and will need to be re-stuck-together upon reassembly.

Still: I'll ( respectfully ) call this a fussy design, that could have been made much simpler...it's a Tender Little Critter!
