Would be interesting to see how iPhone 16 performs in games compared to 15 Pro. I don't believe that having 1 GPU more will simply answer the question.

A18 in iPhone 16 is a newer and more efficient processor compared to A17 Pro in iPhone 15 Pro. The heat is to be considered as well as other improved parameters.

What do you think?

if im not mistaken , it has the same number of GPU cores, just one more than the A18 (non- pro)

Gaming performance is mostly limited by cooling, so the iPhone 16 could easily beat the iPhone 15 Pro, which had one of the worst cooling because titanium is not a good conductor of heat.
AS I SAID we will see!

Not so much difference..it is but not much and the new cooling system should definitely help since the inside borders are alum and not titanium now
But we will see..probably a huge info starting with Thursday or Friday

A17 in iPhone 15 Pro has 6 GPU and A18 in regular iPhone 16 has 5 GPU. Due to the weight difference of 30g (170g vs 200g which is insane for a mobile device), I will not go for 16 Pro and hope that the regular 16 will have at least the same power as 15 Pro.

So Calif
That iPhone 16 pro models are also made with titanium......
But the 16 was improved due to complaints of heating and throttling back performance.

16 Pro has new carbon liner that dissipates heat and the aluminum bonded to the titanium also lends to heat dissipation.

16 Pro's A18 Pro should outperform 15 Pros with better heat dissipation.

15 Pro also has aluminum bonded to titanium. The carbon liner and steel encased battery are the main differences as far as heat dissipation is concerned

Thread is about A18. Not A18 Pro. Thank you 🙏

That Geekbench test is 15 Pro vs 16 Pro. The OP is interested in 15 Pro vs regular 16...
and? its about ML power and since both regular 16 and 16 pro are the same...I wonder if this is mostly because memory bandwidth improvements or whether the NPU saw some refinement too.We will see about gpu soon enough

So actually if I play with 60FPS, which is great and stable, I don't need 120Hz screen at all since there will be no visible difference compared to 60Hz.

The answer is, the 15 Pro models have the same GPU performance as the iPhone 16 (no Pro) models

Metal Benchmark:
iPhone 15 Pro Max (A17 Pro) - 27142
iPhone 16 Plus (A18) - 26759
iPhone 16 Pro (A18 Pro) - 33184
