I broke the display on my 2018 A1990 15" touchbar Macbook Pro (for the second time in as many months by closing the lid on an unnoticed object on the rt speaker, Doh!). I found a very inexpensive and otherwise A+ quality display with a bad camera. I figured I could just use my iPhone as a camera if I needed it for a zoom session or something, but didn't realize that this would cause the keyboard backlight function to disappear. I wonder if there is some third party app, hack, or workaround that might turn the backlight on, even if without brightness control.
