Every time I try to play video in the ABC app it crashes; anyone else have the same issue?

Worked for me but have yet to figure out how to go back in the app. Oh wait, you can only go back when in portrait. Landscape is pretty much play/stop and that's it.

Quality pretty good too.

Hmm it keeps crashing for me too once I start playing a video and the ad is playing. I was really looking forward to watching a couple shows too.

Hmm just wondering if maybe it has something to do with ABC not being able to detect where you are connecting from? You know how anal those studios get... If you happen to connect from the 'wrong' side of Niagara Falls all hell might break loose. :(

Otherwise It's hard to imagine why it would crash on some and not on others since they're all the same (other than the flash size). Perhaps if people started providing some details as to how they are connecting to the net it might help. " at home via comcast " or " mall wifi hotspot " or whatever.. and you might as well include the flash size just in case its something even more strange...

Just watched Modern Family without a glitch. Display and sound was great! Digging this keyboard...

crashes for me everytime as well

seems like i can click on the video the commercial starts playing and 5 seconds into it it crashes

ah, the price of being an early adopter! bummer (and I'm not saying that in a mocking way--believe me! ). sorry you guys are having issues with the new apps. Yesterday I installed 2.0 of Kindle for iphone and it looks and acts identically to the previous version. what's up with that?? it works fine, but no new features.

once i lay eyes on an iPad, I might want one too. and of course, if I do, the wife will want one too--she wants EVERYTHING I like.

I had a cool watch; she fell in love with the ladies version of the same model. i bought it for her...

i have an insulin pump; she got one (actually numerous models over the years).

i bought my first ipod about 6? years ago. she wanted one; bought her an iPod Mini.

i bought a shuffle. yes, she wanted (and got) a shuffle...

I bought a touch; i had to buy her one, 1 or 2 days later.

The list goes on and on. :)

OMG... we have the same syndrome.... and GUYS (single guys OR married guys) if you think having a wife that LIKES all the 'cool stuff' that we like is a BONUS ..... IT ISN'T!!!!!

How would you like to be shopping for a new family room TV and have your wife say... ARE YOU SURE 52" IS BIG ENOUGH? Suddenly and almost without any control over it at all... I had to take the role of the 'responsible one'... ME ... all but forced into making RESPONSIBLE choices. Hey I didn't like it but it was either that or if left unchecked we'd be broke (but with lots of toys).

The iPad event hit in late January and I'm minding my OWN business quietly watching the keynote and she walks into the computer room and starts to watch and almost as an after thought she says... "you know we need TWO of those right!?!?".

Perhaps doing a cold start/boot after the app was installed will fix the issues... people (including myself) quickly forget that iPhones, iPod Touches and now iPads ARE running an OS and while some may argue otherwise ... ARE COMPUTERS. ... Everyone having a problem, do a cold boot (after the ABC app was loaded on and after it was run / attempted to run).

Let us know what turns up.

Apps crashing

At the Apple Store I had a similar problem with the NY Times app crashing on two different iPads they had on display. Loaded the app and then tried to save an article. Exited app and reopened but it kept crashing.

Just did that and it did seem to help. Now I can actually start a show where before it would crash as soon as I selected an episode.

Does not 100%.

Cougartown crashes every single time.

Modern Family works without issue. Watching the iPad portion of the last show... on my iPad. :D

I only had one crash while watching a video, but none since. The one oddity is that the rotation lock causes the app to go to portrait mode, there is no way to lock the screen in landscape. I sent a note to ABC.

abc.com is crashing for me on both my iPad and my MacBook Pro. On the MacBook Pro it doesn't matter if I use Safari or Firefox, both lock up and must be forced to quit. Conveniently on the iPad the app eventually exits (probably the system killing it). At first I thought maybe it was a mistake in the HTML5 code of abc.com, but it appears to be more extensive than that since it even fails with Flash available in Firefox or Safari. Uhg.

I think I have a fix. Maybe others can test it out. Simply close all safari windows leaving maybe one or none. Crashes go away when watching ABC.

Seems to work for me.
