Can anyone supply first hand account of dealing with Abes of Maine?
I recently bought a product for roughly $400.00 and i'm beginning to worry.
They charged my card within a day, but still have yet to ship.
I have googled for reviews of them, many people warn to stay away.
I called them and they told me it would ship either today or tomorrow, that was two days ago...

Still no word.
Should I be scared?

You'll get it eventually, they aren't a scam outfit, but they aren't "honest Abes" either.

They are a typical low cost eTailer. If they had it in stock, you would have gotten it already.

Yeah, I played nice on the phone today. The representive said, "we still have not received it"...odd, I didn't know they had to order it themselves on top of my order already. That is crummy...though as long as I get it I will be okay.

Thanks for the tip!

The first place to check whenever you're considering buying from a retailer you're unfamiliar with is ResellerRatings. They have a pretty good rating on there and are fairly well-known, so you should be fine, but keep on top of them.

From what I can gather from reviewers...

They enjoy upsale as well as splitting kits and trying to gouge you on them individually.
Also, they take some time to deliver...but I have yet to read a review that states that they, the consumer, have gotten totally screwed.

I can say from my personal experience, their customer service stinks. He called my bass pedal, a bass (as in the fish). They are also not outright rude, but prickly is a good way to sum them up.

I am saving 20 bucks on my purchase....it doesn't seem worth it though.

Just a heads up for everyone else. :)

Good day.
