Hello to you all. I am currently backing up all my data, and I tried transferring pdf files/books from kindle onto my desktop for instance, and I can't do that. is there a way to transfer the kindle files into a usb? many thanks

Calibre. It's a do it all (create, manage, convert, etc) e-book utility. I only use it to manage my e-book library because I bought the low end Kindle with only 8GB storage.

Are not all your Kindle books coming from Amazon? If so they would be associated with your account so you really don't need to back them up they are all floating in the cloud associated with your Amazon account.
