hey i recently deleted some stuff on my mac and i think i might have deleted something important so i used the mac os x to reinstall the mac os x. by doing that does it replace any missing files and removes all the history and everything and starts out fresh?

yes, if you reinstall your mac os x, it will remove any data in your mac.
use mac os x install dvd for reinstall it.

You can do an "Archive and Install" which will archive the old OS X, install a fresh one, then import compatible applications and user accounts...

When you reinstall Mac OS X, it will either remove all your files, then install itself, or if you choose, it will just reinstall the system and it will leave your files alone. However, it just reinstalls system files, no personal files, if that was what you deleted.
