dear friends, I have a dispute with my friend. I told him that when performing a factory reset and erasing an iPhone (from within the phone itself), you must disable the "Find My iPhone" feature beforehand. My friend says that the phone can be erased without disabling it, and of course, it will ask for the account after the reset. Who is right and who is wrong? Or is there a difference between iOS versions in this case?

About stopping Find My iPhone

In theory it'll ask for the account details and disable FMI and Activation Lock when you initiate the reset. In practice I've seen this fail to occur, although admittedly that was a while ago.
I agree with Nermal: In theory, FMI will be disabled automatically during the reset:
