I feel sorry saying that I'm returning my iMac 27 i7 after 3 replacements and 2 new panel replacements . :(

My first one got dead pixels and HDD problems, my second one got the yellow issue and decks under the glass. My third one still got yellow issue and 13 dead pixel on iSight . Brought it to Apple Service Provider to get the new panel LCD and iSight camera. No yellow and dead pixel. One week later, Noticed terrible back light bleeding from every corner on my iMac when watching DVD in the dark room. The solid black screen became light gray. Brought it back and Apple Service Provider agreed to change another LCD panel, Today, got a call from an Apple Service Provider rep, saying that after replacing the new LCD, my iMac now just powers on with no chime and video. He 's suspecting it was due to the logical board issue.

He suggested me calling Apple to get a brand new one. But I will call Apple and will ask for a refund tomorrow

I have some questions for that, though

1. When you guys drop off your iMac at Fedex store, do any of you ship it back with the shipping box covering your iMac box (The brown box) or just the iMac box only ?

2. Regrading to my story, I got some things from Apple for my compensation such as a 1TB WD External HDD, an iPod, and an Apple Care (This one doesn't matte now ) Do I have to return these things too if I choose to get a refund ?

Thanks a lot guys

I had to return my iMac like 4 times. The last return, which was for a refund, I sent back the iMac in it's original box, no brown box. I checked with my FedEx store and they said they had shipped them like that before.

I wouldn't think you'd need to return any compensation that was given to you for your troubles unless it was specifically asked for - although your Applecare may be tied to the machine, and thus, void. (I was given a +15% refund for my iMac, it looks like they chose to compensate you in a different way).

Thanks for you reply. Dropped off my iMac today, and called back Apple right away to tell them its tracking number so they can proceed my refund faster.

Surprisingly, an Apple Sale Rep told me they will ship a replacement today and I can get it on Friday if I want a replacement instead of a refund with an additional $100 off. They even knew how much I would need this iMac (I once told one of them about being a Software Engineer and I'm working on iPhone and iPad development ), So they offered me this deal

I decided to try one more time and they assure me that this one will be a problem-free one. (I'll see)

By the way, I'm so surprised How fast the shipment of these current batch of iMac. (Ship within 24 hrs as advertised, but mine was within 12 hrs or less :) )

I used to wait about 3-4 weeks before getting one.
