Hi! Well, you know, I'm a new at iphone programming.

I have already made a few dumb code that works on the simulator, and now I wanted to try it on my iphone. Once I was asked if I wanted to use my iphone as a development device and I said yes, so my question is, is there a way I can try my own apps on my iphone without paying the 99$ fee? Why did they asked me if I have to pay the fee anyway?

And another question, my iphone is jailbroken, can I still use it as a development device? Thanks a lot!

In order to legitimately load your application onto your own iPhone, you'll need to pay the $99 fee. Once accepted into the full developer program, you'll need to setup provisioning profiles and security certificates for your app/iPhone.

Then you can use XCode to install your app onto your iPhone.

Honestly, I don't know. You need to provide your iPhone's Unique ID to Apple and they create a provisioning profile for your specific phone. You then install that profile onto your phone, and you can view it under the "Settings" app.

If Jailbreaking doesn't interfere with this process, it might be ok, but I don't have any experience with Jailbroken phones.

You do have to make sure that your phone's OS uses the correct version for specified by the iPhone SDK though.

Anyone else? any experience? I really don't want to lose all the advantages jailbreak gives me.

im looking for the same answer... i have an iphone that i use for development and i would like to keep it jailbroken cuz theres a couple apps that i want to be able to use (because i still use the device)... will i be able to keep it jailbroken as long as i follow all the stuff on the iphone dev center? im already accepted as a developer with a paid account.

[EDIT]

i found an answer to the question in this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/566413/

the second post seems to suggest its working for him with no problem!
