About to buy an iMac 21,5, but... High pitch noise from the screen?

Just buy if you like it and stop worrying about rare defects its silly...

I know about 5 people from uni who have bought a 21inch one no problems, nothing.

Yes you might be unlucky and get one with a defect, but guess what? Refund it and get a new one!;)
 
i have one and its never been a problem.

I wouldnt worry too much about the things you see on these threads. While i dont doubt they are genuine problems its easy too read through them and think Apples quality control must be rubbish, but its human nature for people to come onto the internet and complain rather than praise.

a good example of this is the infamous iPhone 4 reception issue, ive never seen the forums so busy as they were at that point complaining about iPhone problems, but when Apple released the stats on it only something like 2% of owners had actually contacted Apple to report issues with it.

Dont worry about it :)
