I am really about to get one from our AT&T store, BUT

What plans + services do I need to ask for?

I'm thinking about getting a 8GB. Is it just as thin as the 4GB?

How good is the speaker [not earpiece] on it?

Call quality?

Is the screen well for movies/TV shows/etc. ?

My biggest concern :

I currently am on a FamilyTalk plan or whatever it's called. I heard that you need special plans for the iPhone. Is there some sort of Family plan that let's you use iPhones and ordinary phones?

Thanks

Yes. Get the 8 gig.

Depends. I think it is fine.

If possible call ATT. I am unsure about fam plans.

Its a great phone just buy it and enjoy..

cant resist so here I go

yes the 8 gig is bigger its 8 gigs...

Speaker quality...Your kidding right?? This thing rocks it delivers 5.1 THX when on movies you cant get anybetter from a speaker the size of a dime..

For movies I have stopped watching my HDTV its so good...I took down my plasma and have my iphone mounted on the wall..

Its the best home theater phone yet

If you already have AT&T service all you have to do is add the $20 data plan onto each line that will be getting an iPhone.

The 8 gig is just as thin as the 4 gig, and definitely worth the extra 100 bucks for twice the amount of memory.

Speakerphone isn't too great, not gonna lie, it isn't too terribly loud, but I don't have much of a use for it so it doesn't really bother me too much.

Call quality and earpiece quality are top notch, much better than the 4 Sprint phones I have used in the past. I get full bars with this where I usually get 1-2 with my Samsung Upstage.

The screen is AWESOME, that's all that needs to be said

Speaker is kinda meh. Didn't really expect anything terrific though for the size of the iPhone. Screen quality is unbelievable fantastic. I wish my TVs looked that great (and I have a couple LCD HDTVs). Call quality is great where I am (Metro DC). Of course its going to vary in every area. AT&T has a lot of weak areas, mostly not big cities or near major interstates.

for me the speaker is loud
i mean this is a personal device
do not set it high and be in a public place
people wont like that
...like those people with booming car steroes and pumping wheels:mad:

Thanks guys!

I will probably be picking one up before I head off to Europe in 4 days. I will either get one when I get my MacBook, which is after I get back on the 24th, or if my DELL can sell within these 4 days, I'll get it now.

And another question. Is there some kind of way I can turn off the phone part while I'm on the plane? Like Motorola's "Airplane Mode" ?

:D

Yes, there is airplane mode, no problem at all.

International roaming rates on AT&T are high though, and you need to sign up before you leave.
