about to buy, USB hack questions

Hey all, I have a couple of questions before I buy the Apple TV. I don't have a spare computer to just leave iTunes on to sync all my media (I have about 1TB worth) as I rock it laptop style and if I'm not home with the laptop I want my wife to have full access to the media goodness.

- Once the USB hack is applied and I plug in the TB drive to the Apple TV, will it wipe the drive if I try to sync, or will I be able to drag-and-drop (with the SSH hack) and have the external be intact?

- if I buy more Apple TVs will I be able to stream from another Apple TV's external drive?

1. Are you sure the "hacks" will even work with the ATV2?

2. Don't see how you could possibly get two ATVs to talk to each other.

I don't need Take 2, I'm in Canada and can't rent anything so 1.1 should be fine. Couldn't find any info on whether the USB drive will want to sync with iTunes, or if I could share that USB drive on a network (which could then let me share with another Apple TV).
