About to purchase old iphone for tmobile service, I have questions...

Ok, Here is my scenario, I am rather new to these forums, I tried searching for my answer and could not find so I hope someone will be kind to help me out. I have tmobile service, With my favs and like a small text plan, my current phone is a sidekick. I just purchased an older iphone, I understand and have read it has been hacked,meaning I should be able to use if hacked and I place my sim card for. For the owners of hacked iphones who have tmobile service, does it work well?, what are the down falls?, with the new software 2.0, are we able to download games as well as a person who has current phone with service?, what is this tzone that people keep talking about?, am i suppose to get that?, will random charges occur on my tmobile plan if i use this hacked iphone?, And do u feel it works almost like an iphone with carrier att, please let mek now, thank you all for your time.

If the phone you are buying is unlocked then there will be no problem with using it on t-mobile

you can't get firmware 2.0 yet and don't allow itunes to upgrade it to 2.0 as it will then no longer be unlocked!!

You can get it to 1.1.4 which is the latest pre-3g firmware.

if the phone is jailbroken too (likely on an unlocked phone) then you can install apps too - but not through the new itunes store.

waiting on the hack for 2.0 before I update my 1.1.4 iphoneV1

So how would you rate the usage of the iphone?, Runs well right?, How do you get the apps like monkey ball and stuff on our hacked iphone?, think it will be possible, im so amped to go buy someones used iphone, put a warranty on that and just enjoy while keeping my plan low. Also, If I have the 20 dollar unlimited sidekick data plan, I wont be charged for any extra internet correct?, or is better to get just the tzone 5.99 one and use only when in wifi areas. Does the tzone work as long as ur in router range of anywhere?, or is it specific to like only starbucks and stuff.

1. The iPhone will work perfectly normally on T-Mobile so long as it's an unlocked (that is, hacked) phone. It will work just as well as it would on AT&T or any other carrier.
2. MonkeyBall etc. will not work until you upgrade to iPhone Software 2.0. If you install 2.0, your phone will be relocked, so you have to wait for someone to come up with a workable hack until you get a (hacked) 2.0 upgrade - Do NOT download the 2.0 upgrade from iTunes.
3. I don't know what you're referring to re a warranty - you certainly won't be covered by Apple.
4. Yes, your existing data plan should work for the iPhone.
5. The T-Mobile WiFi package only works where they have installed a router... these are becoming increasingly rare.

My friend has an original iPhone on T-Mobile. Works great. Visual voicemail is gone though as that is an exclusive AT&T feature.

With the new software 2.0, are we able to download games as well as a person who has current phone with service?

The new 2.0 software lets you download games via Wi-Fi or cell network (which ever that is). There is no extra service charge for buying and downloading the apps. You just need a good Data Plan so data fees won't kill you (like T-Mobiles $5.99 data plan)

What is this tzone that people keep talking about?

T-Zones is an offer from T-Mobile where you get unlimited internet and data for $5.99. This plan is Razr and other non-smartphones oriented. However, the original iPhone has a hack that allows this cheap plan to work well on the iPhone, but a bit more slower speed than AT&T's EDGE network.

Am i suppose to get that?

Only if you want. But it is suggested if you want cheap data plan on the iPhone

Works fine everywhere, except the visual voicemail which is AT&T and/pr other official carriers exclusive feature.

I tried using sidekick plan on iphone, it didn't work, so had to get t-zones.
