Ok, so my iMac (G5 Rev B) has been into Apple Care 3 times, its had its logic board replaced twice after suffering multiple daily Kernel Panics and then some big failure thingy where it wouldnt start up.

The Kernel Panics are back and the Optical drive is spitting out discs often so that they drop and fall out. The Optical Drive is also not able to read occasionally, iTunes will freeze up when trying to import CDs that import just fine on a different computer.

Is it worth trying to 'stick it' to Apple and try and get them to replace it? It has the Extended Warranty and we have passed the 1 year by a month or 2.

Yeah call them and tell them exactly what's happening. You have Apple Care for a reason so why not use it.

Are they open on a Saturday?? Remember, it's after 4pm here - they may have all gone down the pub for the afternoon.

Be persistent, yet polite and nice.

and don't listen to Chundles. Some people stay until closing on Fridays.. :p
(unless I'm backwards on my Australia v. US time.)

Friday, yes.

But it's Saturday afternoon here KT and a spectacular one at that. I know where I'd rather be...

Noon till 6pm? On a Saturday? That's silly - I'm positive the guys at Apple Care Australia would much rather 9am till 2pm on Saturdays.

Well according to apple.co.nz those nice Apple Aussie blokes work till 8pm NZ time. Anyway the guy told me to a) try a different use account which we have tried and hasnt helped, b) reinstall the system which I have done twice and I really don't want to do it again c) run Apple Hardware Test which I have done before but did it overnight just to be on the safe side, again it showed no problems.

Pity they don't work on Sundays too. I guess I'll have to wait till Monday.
