Hi,
I've recently been experiencing serious issues with my mac (mid 2009 13 inch mac book pro, OSX 10.8.2).
While I'm browsing the web or simply listening to music on Itunes, my computer goes to sleep randomly. This sleep issue is activated even when my hand is still on the trackpad. I have reset the SMC before, but it keeps happening. I've only had this issue since upgrading to Mountain Lion (from Lion). I have a mid 2009 13 inch mac book pro with upgraded Ram (8gb from Corsair).
I recently also had issue with the HDD cable which I got it replaced at the apple store. With the old cable, my computer would abruptly eject the disk and freeze. I no longer have that issue, but now it goes to sleep randomly.
My settings are set to never for computer sleep and after 1 hour for display sleep. 'Hard Disk sleeping whenever possible' is disabled. I have also kept the same for both on battery and for on AC power.
Upon inspecting the console system.log I get the following:
I would really appreciate it if someone could kindly shed some light on this matter. I have found other threads where people were able to resolve the issue by resetting the SMC and the checking and unchecking the settings, but this has not fixed it for me. I have also reset the NVRAM before and the issue keeps happening, though it did not happen for a while.
Also, if there is a way for me to avoid reinstalling OSX that would be great. I'm in middle of exams and unfortunately don't have the resources to do that.
Again, I really appreciate any help.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
alitan

I would really appreciate it if someone could kindly shed some light on this matter. I have found other threads where people were able to resolve the issue by resetting the SMC and the checking and unchecking the settings, but this has not fixed it for me. I have also reset the NVRAM before and the issue keeps happening, though it did not happen for a while.
Also, if there is a way for me to avoid reinstalling OSX that would be great. I'm in middle of exams and unfortunately don't have the resources to do that.
Again, I really appreciate any help.
Thank you.
