My iPhone 6 went from 91% to 81% in 75 minutes on standby, no usage. I just left the phone on my desk, I closed all apps as well just to see how much the battery will drop and it dropped from 91% to 81% in 75 minutes exactly.

And this is with a fresh iOS 9 install and setting up as a new phone.

Seeing the same kind of results as well. Standby usage is too high. I don't even have the 'Hey Siri' setting on.

Does the battery information show usage when the phone is off? Note the usage time then set it down. Check in after an hour or so and check the usage time again.

Bluetooth on? Could be a sign of cavities.
Bluetooth is on, and my MBP is near the phone, so continuity and handoff are enabled. But like I said, no apps were open on the phone. Another 2 hours and the battery is down to 63% now. Again, this is total standby. But the usage time has gone up 2 hours as well.

After my charge in the morning, it now shows 5 hours 2 minutes usage and 6 hours 25 minutes standby. But I have used the phone approximately 75 minutes since this morning.

Sounds like some app or process is stuck and running. Have you tried rebooting the phone? Perhaps resetting network settings? Maybe signing out of iCloud or other email addresses and signing back in?

If you're doing anything on the computer then handoff is still trying to send stuff to your phone to be ready. It's a two way street with handoff. Another thought is to turn on low power mode. This should give a boost over normal battery times and especially your situation.

On Saturday I was up in the mountains on a bike ride and I put my phone in low power mode as I new I would be out all day and I thought that may help. I was only using the phone for photos.

Within an hour it had dropped from 100% to 70 or so %. After three hours I noticed it was down to 37%. I switched it off. When I switched it back on 45 minutes later it was down to 30% so it was consuming battery while OFF! I switched it off again. About an hour later it I switched it back on. This time it was at 5%. Shortly after that it died.

On Sunday, I was on another ride and this time I put the phone into airplane mode and this time it survived just fine.

I don't know what happened on Saturday but I think there may be a serious bug with low power mode when in poor reception areas as it just killed my phone even when switched off. How can that be?

Low power mode won't stop your phone from searching for reception so that's way it died. However, you can use low power mode and airplane mode together.

That clearly shows the cause of your "standby" drain. Your phone is not on standby - something has used it for 5 hrs 2 mins. You have an app that's stuck or something. Which app is showing the biggest drain in Settings -> Battery ?

Ok, but why would he phone keep on consuming power even when I switched it off (not standby, a hard off)? That makes no sense.

Safari is the one showing biggest drain at 37% but that's the last 24 hours. I haven't used Safari at all today. I listened to music only after the charge, music showing 30%, 5 minutes on screen and 4.2 hours background. I have listened to 75 minutes of music today. I don't think it's any of the apps, I think it's either bluetooth, or wifi, or cell signal. Some process, not app based, is draining the battery.

I forgot you said it was off. That would have to be a battery issue. What phone are you on?

Can you confirm that you have already done a hard reset (power button + home button)?

Having this same problem as well. Only thing that has helped is keeping my phone constantly on low power mode which seemed to boost it dramatically. I used to go from never having to charge my phone iPhone 6 mostly all day to having to charge around mid day. Low power mode lets me go all day again. Hopefully it's looked into for the next update

Yes, I have done both, several times. Now here's the breakdown of the last few hours:

18:51 45% 6:40 usage 9:56 SB

19:15 42% 7:03 usage 10:20 SB

19:25 40% 7:13 usage 10:30 SB Reboot

20:21 36% 7:30 usage 11:15 SB

21:17 31% 7:57 usage 12:21 SB Turn Bluetooth off

22:20 24% 8:51 usage 13:25 SB Turn Airplane mode on

23:04 23% 8:53 usage, 14:09 SB

As you can see, the only thing that stops the battery drain is turning Airplane mode on. Until Airplane mode, even though the phone is on standby, the usage time has been as high as the actual time passed, so the phone cannot ever enter Standby mode. After Airplane mode, finally, in 45 minutes, the usage has only gotten from 8:51 to 8:53.

Now I have turned Airplane mode off, but disabled Wifi. Gonna wait another hour.

I really think its a bug with Wifi and Cellular. I turned off Wifi-assist and it seems to have helped on my 5s during the betas. (Im on a 6s now and have not noticed issues).
