Hi, I just received my new MBP and being my first mac I have a question. I'm going to be running an external 23" ACD with this computer and I was wondering if running the computer on AC power without the battery would damage it. The manual doesn't mention this anywhere. I was thinking of doing this to spare the batteries over time.

Thanks

You can do it, but it's not advisable. You don't do any damage to the battery by leaving it in there, and by taking it out you leave the machine unbalanced and expose the connector and other interior stuff to dust and other foreign matter.
