I'm looking for a way to transcode an AC3 Audio track from a MKV file to Applelossless.

I have already emailed the maker of MKVtools about the idea of adding the feature.

Until than, I already can transcode FLAC to Applelossless with the application XLD. So if someone can point me in the right direction of transcoding AC3 to FLAC it would be a great help. Than I could simply go AC3 to FLAC to ALAC (Applelossless)

I'm simply trying to do a 100% lossless transcode of a H.264/AC3 .MKV file to H.264/ALAC .mp4 since iOS and Quicktime X don't play too nicely with AC3.

Thanks!

FFmpegX 0.0.9y

Ok I got FFmpegX 0.0.9y up and running on 10.6

Any further instructions you can send my way? no FLAC or ALAC options are jumping out at me in the application.

I use eac3to through VMware (link is currently unavailable but should be back soon). It's the most reliable way that I've found and it handles pretty much everything I throw at it.
