Hi - first, apologies if I'm being stupid here but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere.

We registered and got access to the iPhone SDK a good few weeks back - however we still can't publish apps to the store etc...

Maybe I'm just getting confused with the process. We signed up - got a confirmation email from Apple and logged into the dev centre to download the SDK and other documents. Is there a huge waiting list to be accepted to distribute apps or am I missing a simple process?

Thanks
Craig

From your description it seems like you haven't even applied for acceptance to the developer program yet. Go to http://developer.apple.com/iphone and log in, and then on the right side under "iPhone Developer Program" click "Apply Now". I hate to tell you, but you're a loooong ways away before being able to sell apps on the app store. Even if you get approved instantly, as some people are reporting, it still takes up to 3 weeks for your paid app contract to go through.

Yeah, its not very clear from Apple that its a two-step process, and thats annoying. You register once to have access to the developer parts of the website, and then you have to register again, wait to be accepted and pay your fee to be able to put an app up for sale. Once you submit your app, you need to wait still again to get it approved.

If your app isn't done yet, don't worry, cause you have plenty of time to polish it up nice. Don't let the long wait discourage you.
