Accepting/Decline invites - can it be done?

This is the final last item I have with my iphone (2G) that I haven't been able to resolve. Sending invitations or Accepting/Declining/ etc - can't get it to happen. Any ideas? Other than this, I really like the phone.

Once you update to 2.0 and activate ActiveSync it will work.

You can accept / decline invites with V2, but not send them out unfortunately

How to I turn on ActiveSync? (I'm not using MobileMe).

So to setup ActiveSync your email server must first be using Outlook Exchange. If you already have your email on your IPhone setup for Exchange you need to still delete the email account off your phone and re-add it after you have upgraded to 2.0. When you add back your email account select Outlook Exchange as the type (might just say Outlook, don't remember). You will then receive your invites.

hmmm. when I finally figured out, all on my own, how to get my emails working, I had to set it up through "Other". I tried every possible recommended configuration that our ITG folks would offer to get the MS Exchange to work, to no avail. "Other" let me get emails through the POP set-up for home emails, and the work emails through our OWA internet access. (Outlook Web Access) My calendar/contacts currently updates via iTune, through Entourage.

If MSE is required, I'm not sure I can crack that code. Any input is welcome.

My advice is to look at your work computer's Outlook account configuration and use the exchange server address and account and password that is configured for it on your IPhone. If you are running IPhone 2.0 and have selected Exchange Active Sync as your mailbox type this should work.

Well, thanks... I feel better, cause I did it exactly the way you're describing. But it didn't work. I'm running Outlook on my PC, and Entourage on the Mac. Both connect to the MSE server. I looked through the account settings in Outlook, and matched up the server address on the iphone - no luck. Then I looked at my Mac Entourage setting, to see what server setting Entourage uses to connect to MSE. It's a different server "address" in Entourage, but I tried it. No luck. That's why I've ended up using our online http address to get emails. THere must be some type of security setting that not letting the iphone get through that I can't work through.

Does Active Sync have to be enabled on the server for the MSE set up to work?
