Accesible file system?

Does anyone know if the iPhone has an accessible file system or finder? I haven't seen anything on this yet. This would determine how the iPhone is used. I mean it is after all a "full version of OSX". Can you even store files? Regular iPods can, the iPhone should too. This is also important for things like using Safari. What happens if a file tries to download? Will it just block downloads all together? Maybe it will. It's not like the iPhone has any type of viewer application for pdfs, word files, excel sheets, etc. And it's not like any ol developer can whip one out...not allowed by Mr Jobs.

Any one know anything about this?

I think that you would be able to use your iPhone in "disk mode".

And developers are going to be able to make apps for the iPhone. I guess that you would surely be able to open PFDs, Excel, Word, etc.

As for downloading files from internet, why not? You can download mails after all.

well i guess what I am asking is will we have access to the file system, or will it be hidden. Steve claims it is a full version of OSX.

Using the iPhone in disk mode is a little different than being able to browse the file system while the phone is running. And from what I saw, there was no way to access the directory where the mail attachments were being stored, besides accessing them within the email application.

Now I understand what you meant.

I suppose you are going to be able to browse your files. It would be the same things as with songs or movies, just that this time with files. But this purely speculation.
