I use Microsoft Access heavily at work, and I want to know how Access performs on a Mac running Virtual PC. I currently have VPC on my 550 MHz TiBook, and it is unacceptably slow. I was wondering if anyone out there has tried running VPC and Access on their 1 GHz PowerBooks and can share some of their experiences.

Many thanks.

i Think it will be really slow.
VPC imitates my mac as a Pentium 2
And I have a DP G4 1 GHZ with 1.5 Gb of ram...
So yea..

Even IE on VPC is slooow

Does the word "Snail" ring a bell. My spec's are below and it runs way too slow for any sort of production environment. I've tried all sorts of Apps and all ran slow. It's totally unacceptable and they should really make a better effort at correcting this issue. It's been out long enough to have address this issue. Especially, with today's computer standards.

With Virtual PC 6.01 (or 6.02) On a Mac with L3 cache, you get decent much better performance than you would without the L3 cache.

A TiBook 550 does not have L3 cache. The 1GHz TiBook and 17" Powerbook both have L3 cache.

Of course it also depend on what you're doing exactly.
