There is HFS Utilities but do you know any other ways to access HFS Standard partitions like on old Enhanced CDs?
HFS standard support has been gone since Catalina has been released. If you have an Intel Mac you could make a virtual machine with macOS Mojave (10.14.x) on it to read whatever disks you might have.

This is what I use for quick things. Support is good but not yet complete.

I find.the best option is to mount the disc in BasiliskII emulators and copy the files to OS X using the emulator shared folder.

I'm still on Monterey but the situation is the same.

I keep a Mojave MBP around for emergencies.
