Access PDF saved to iCloud in OS X with Preview.app?

C'mon Apple make them visible in iBooks or something. Why no love for PDFs
I guess I've been assuming there would be an update to iBooks that would allow this after ML is released. Surely if Apple is going to let you save files of a certain type on iCloud, they are going to give you some way to access the file on IOS devices.
I was thinking this was just for documents you put out on iCloud from within IOS GoodReader.
I think this is true.
Each application that uses iCloud for document syncing has its on carved out space within your iCloud space. Each application cannot see each other space/ files.
I too am a bit surprised that iCloud files from Macs preview app can't be accessible via ios. Maybe there will be a way in ios 6 that hasn't been announced yet?
Not surprised, more like disappointed. I also think its a disappointment that bookmarks, notes and highlights in PDF's from Preview don't carry over to iBooks! Time for iBooks OS X?
I was really thinking/hoping Apple would release an update to iBooks that would let you access PDF's stored by Preview on your Mac. I am still hoping this will happen with IOS6. Surely Apple will do something. It is hard for them to advertise iCloud as letting you access your documents anywhere if they don't.
I've managed to find a really good work around that will allow you to use iCloud to sync documents to all of your macs/ iOS devices in a similar way to iDisk.
It requires installing iFiles from the iOS AppStore. iFiles is a file management app that has built in iCloud support. (£2.49)
On each Mac navigate to the users/ library/ mobile documents folder. Note: the library folder is hidden as default. Provided you have installed iFiles on at least one iOS device and added iCloud to it then you should see a folder for the ifiles app. Inside of this folder you will see a folder called Documents. Creat an alias for the documents folder and add it to your desktop as a shortcut.
Now if you add any files to the documents folder then it will automatically be uploaded to iCloud and downloaded to any other Mac that you have signed into iCloud on. Using iFiles you will also be able to access the same files.

I want to correct a previous post I made about using GoodReader to read pdf's you store on iCloud. Yes you can do this but it takes some monkeying around. Note - you do not use Preview to store the pdf's on iCloud. Here is how you do it -
1) Install GoodReader on your iPad or iPhone. Next, in GoodReader go into the General Settings section and enable the use of iCloud.
2) Then go to your Mac. In Finder, go to the ~/Library folder (it is a hidden folder - click on Go in Finder while holding down the Option key, then click on Library). Then go to the Mobile Documents folder. You should see a folder that has GoodReader in the folder name. Go to that folder and make a alias of the Documents folder in GoodReader. You can then drag that alias to your sidebar in Finder, your Desktop or the Dock.
3) Then simply copy any pdf's you want to store on iCloud to that folder. Start up GoodReader on your IOS device and files are there. Once you got the initial setup done, it works great.

GoodReader has an option where you can transfer files from your computer to your iOS device wirelessly. On the opening screen, on the lower right-hand side you will see a wireless symbol. Tapping on that wireless symbol will prompt GoodReader to create a http address where you can connect your PC with your iOS device wirelessly (the http address is entered into the URL section of a web browser). Once you do this, you can select files from you PC to transfer to your iOS device. I am using GoodReader version 3.18.6. I hope this helps in finding a work-around for getting PDF files into your iOS device.
