Access to /Library on Big Sur

Hi everyone!
I've made clean install of Big Sur on MBP. Everything works fine except one problem - I can't edit /Library folder. I wanted to set up a profile for my external monitor and found out that I can't copy any files to that folder.

Is there any chance to fix that?

P.S. I've already entered in Terminal csrutil authenticated-root disable, but it doesn't help

Can't they go in the user Library? (~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles). That directory can be created manually if it doesn't already exist.

I have this directory, but I can't copy my display profile (.icc file) there.

Inside your home directory? i.e. /Users/yourname/Library/ColorSync/Profiles ? That should be writable.

You should be able to copy the profile in there as long as you enter your password when prompted. Otherwise, if you're the only user on the computer, the suggestion above in post 4 is a good one and will work equally as well.

You’re talking about the “hands off” system library folder, not ~/ home user library.
Home Library doesn’t list until you enable showing it in Go To folder menu with option key (I think, been years since needed to change so it always shows..

I see this folder, but I can't delete/copy/paste files in that folder.

Are you an administrator on your computer? Are the folder permissions set up correctly?

System Library Requires - Admin Password to change / add files
User library - no password required ( logged in as admin)

Perhaps double check you are logged in as "Admin" ?

That's totally expected and normal. Put the profile in /Library/ColorSync/Profiles, not in /System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles.

Yeah, it sounds like there's some confusion because there are three main Library folders.

/System/Library - Reserved for MacOS System only. Everything in /System/ is uneditable by design.
/Library - Used for all users on the computer. Editable only by an administrator account.
/Users/<username>/Library - Used for just your user account

The final step is:

Once you have named the files to match the names, you then copy/paste them back into the /System/Library/Filters or /System/Library/PDF Services directory. This step may require administration authentication. Doing this will add new options for the compression you selected to your ‘Export’ menu. Remember, you can dabble with the numbers and values if you don’t really like these suggestions.

I had the same issue and solved it by creating a "Filters" folder within /Library (not /System/Libary) and placed my new profiles there. Then export screen looks like the attached pic.

If you are not sure how to do it then do not disable security features. You will hurt yourself.
