I setup an Apple Watch SE for my son using my phone. He doesn't have a phone, just the watch. Now, I want to access all his activity/workout data for the past 30 days as he needs to document it for some school activity. I tried to get access to the data from the Watch app on my phone, but it's not working. It says permission needed on the watch, which I grant every time but data doesn't show up. How can I go about getting this data from his watch? I didn't find anything on icloud.com when I logged in using his credentials. I have confirmed that the iPhone & watch are all on the latest version of the OS.

The data is in the Fitness app and in the Health app on your phone

I see the fitness data from couple of days ago, when the sharing was enabled. Is there a way to get the last 30 days?
You should see all the data from the watch from the time it was paired to your phone. When did you do that?

It's been paired to my phone for more than a year. My son doesn't have a phone, I used mine to activate his watch.

Then the data is there.
Go to the Health app, the section "exercise" for example, at the bottom there is "show all data".

^This. In iOS 26, Health > Search > Activity > Workouts > Show All Data.

Will be similar in older iOSes but iirc Search is "All", "Show All"(?).

Here's what I see in the Health app, just my stats. When I got to the 'Sharing' tab and click on 'Ask Someone to Share' and send my son a message, he gets a notification on his watch to open the Health app, but no option available there to grant permission to share. Am I missing something here?

You said that the AW is paired to your iPhone, correct? And your son is wearing that AW. The data that you are looking at is the combination of the AW and what is recorded by your phone.

I have two AW's paired with my phone, mine and his. The data you see is from my AW, not his.

Well, that certainly is a twist in this...

Did you set it up as a "family member", and if so, sorry, can't be of any help with that portion.

Or did you set it up as a 2nd watch for yourself and he is the wearer of it? In that case, I assume you turned "auto switch" off? I have 2 watches paired with "auto switch" on, but only 1 watch at any given time can be connected. If this is the scenario, go to the watch app on the phone and manually select the 2nd watch as active, that should then sync the data, which might take some time

no experience with this, sorry
You've read thru this? it's unclear to me whether or not it will allow yo to do what you want, have you tried contacting Apple?
Yes, I have. Appreciate all the input from you. Will reach out to support next.
