Accessing and Saving iPhone SMS

Hello Mac geniuses!

I really need to download an SMS conversation and save it in a legitimate format (as legitimate as possible, anyway). What's the best way to do this? Is the best I can hope for a body of text, or is there some way to register more information? Please help!

Is the phone jailbroken? If so this could also be an option. http://www.treasuremytext.com/p/apps
They also offer the ability to forward texts to them. But that would be cumbersome if you have alot you want to save.

If you have upgraded to OS3.0 on iPhone 3G, you can simply copy & paste from the SMS to a new Note. The notes can be synced with Outlook on your PC.
