Helping someone with an iPad 2 with simple needs to access Chase Bank online. Dilemma is Chase app isn't supported on older iOS versions and Safari browser which is bundled with iOS and can't be updated separately through app store is also not supported. Downloading latest Chrome browser also doesn't work since iOS forces 3rd party browsers to use internal iOS WebKit engine which is outdated.

Any other ideas? Trying to avoid making them buy a new device since everything else works for their simple needs and other non-Apple devices as old or even older like 2007 laptop can take the full Chrome browser and work with Chase Bank online.

There’s not much you can do if the bank doesn’t support safari being the second largest mobile browser on the planet.

I don't think I would do this myself (for security reasons), but if you must, try a browser that allows you to change the user agent. It seems one such browser is "Lunascape Web Browser". See the attached pic for the options under settings > user agent in the Lunascape browser app.

Appreciate the suggestions. Prefer to stick with established browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, etc. but none of those are compatible. Gave Lunascape a try due to Japanese origin. Was able to set user agent to latest iPad iOS 12.1.4 (show below) and confirmed it read back correctly by Googling "what's my user agent" but chase.com still shows browser not supported.

Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; CPU OS 12_1_4 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Mobile/16D57 Version/12.0 Safari/604.1

Loss Chrome browser in the process which is the person's preferred browser. Unlike Google play store, Apple app store gives no warning that the app version on the app store is no longer supported until after the installed version is removed.

Apple needs to unbundle Safari browser from iOS updates so that it can be updated independently through app store like Chrome on Android.
