Just got my 4S and was wondering... what's the best app for accessing my home files on the iPhone, but not having to actually go through the Mac OS X UI to do so. I've seen a few apps like this, but aren't sure of the best one.

Cheers.

so you want be able to access all the files on your mac, remotely, from your iPhone, without an app that gives you remote access to your mac?

then you would have to have your entire Hard drive as a shared drive over the internet, and maybe there is some sort of app to be able to access your drive this way, but i don't know.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

Logmein now has an interface where you can get to all your files through a Finder- like interface rather than having to go through the screen sharing thing. It also lets you move/ copy/ delete files etc. I use it all the time - worth the steep price IMO.
