Ok so I'm debating buying a new Mac Mini Server but I've run into one problem trying to run servers before and wondered if Mac Server will fix it...
Problem: My home internet is actually a LAN provided by the apartment complex (so about 15 apartments share the same IP address when viewed from outside the LAN). When I try to setup a server or file host, it's not possible to connect using just the IP address because that only takes me to the LAN address.
Any idea how I could configure Mac Server so I could file host or create a VPN that I could connect to when on the go? The only solution I have currently for file sharing on the go is using Mobile Me's file hosting.
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
(Remember I can't access the router or hub that's being used on the apartment LAN for port forwarding)
