I set up a alternative iCloud email address but I forgot how to access it ? I log into my main iCloud mail but it doesn’t show up there ?.

When you say you want to access it, is that to use it when sending an email? Or do you want to modify one its settings?

To select an iCloud alias in the Mail app, hover over the default address in the From: field and then tap the drop-down menu to see your alias. Select the one you want to use.

If you want to edit your iCloud alias(es), log into iCloud.com > Mail > Accounts.

I rarely use it I sent a email from that account when I replied to a email when replying when I was logged into my default iCloud mail I clicked on my default email address and up popped my other email address .I did manage to get into that other email but forgotten how I did it .

If you've not reinstalled your Mail app/preferences, then when you create a new mail, just click on the address to the right of "From :" and a drop-down list of valid email addresses will show.

if you've reinstalled or messed it up, then add the alias back under preferences / Accounts / Email Addresses. It'll probably try to open a browser page for you to check your aliases on iCloud online.

If I understand what you're saying, there isn't a separate place in your Mac Mail app that shows email for that alias. All your alias-sent and received email appears in the Sent and Inbox of your Mac Mail. Does that help or did I misunderstand what you're asking?

I know that but how do I get to that email box to read my sent mail ? I tried logging on to my iCloud mail with my alternative mail address like name@ iCloud using my default password for my default iCloud address but didn't work ?

There is no separate email box for your alias email. That is, unless you created a custom folder with a rule to move the messages to that folder.

You can test this. Send an email from your Mail alias address to your default Mail address. Does it appear in your Sent folder? Does it appear in your Inbox?

I tried that and it bounced back
OK, so let's step back for a minute. First check to see if the @icloud.com email alias shows in your account list. To do that, log into iCloud.com > Mail > tap on the gear icon in the lower left > Accounts. In that Accounts screen, you should see your primary/default Apple Mail account. If you created an alias, that will appear below it.

Is that what you see?

So in your Mail account settings on iCloud.com, an email alias does not appear. If that's the case, I wonder if you might have created a new Apple ID for the purpose of creating another @icloud.com email address. Could that be what happened?

If not and you're sure that you created an email alias, I realize I left out a step for iCloud.com to check for it:

1. Log into iCloud.com
2. Tap on Mail
3. Tap on the cog in the lower left corner
4. Select preferences (sorry, left out this step above)
5. Select Accounts. It's on this screen you'll see your primary account and 1-3 aliases if created.

In iCloud.com it only shows my default registered iCloud address which is my Apple ID do I wonder if I set a new Apple ID .

If you set up a new Apple ID, maybe you set it up using a password different than your primary Apple ID. If you can't log into iCloud.com using this other Apple ID (so that you can check the mail for it), you can go to appleid.apple.com and use the "Forgot Apple ID or password" link that appears below the login box.

I hope this helps.

Alternatively, you can make things easier by creating an email alias for your primary email address. That way you won't have to log into two separate Apple ID accounts. Here's a support article from Apple about how to do it:
