So I just got an iPad and the guy at the apple store said that i would be able to get an app that would allow me to access my hard drive on my time capsule wifi hard drive from the ipad. I'm looking mostly to access pictures, listen to music, access PDFs, and play movies. Is there any way to the this without an Internet connection? What apps do you guys recommend getting to make this happen.

I've been thinking the same thing. I'd like to be able to stream from my time capsule since it is always on, versus my system which sometimes isn't connected or in sleep mode. I haven't found anything native that works, like connecting through Safari. Did see the app FileBrowser which now says support Time Capsule, but haven't tried it yet.

I have used FileBrowser and it does work quite well with my Time Capsule.
However, it does not stream files to the iPad,
If you want to watch a video or play audio, or use any compatible file, you have to copy the entire file to a local folder within FileBrowser.
You can then open the file in FileBrowser or any app that supports "Open in"

Bummer, having to copy it to the iPad totally defeats the purpose for me.

I did see another app, ezshare pro, that does AFP but it is rather expensive ($15.99) and doesn't look like it is native for the iPad. I did look at the ezShare files (lite) version, and it connects to the TimeCapsule, but the lite version doesn't support streaming.

I bought and tried file browser. It works great, except that it can't play AVI movies.

CineXPlayer (free) lets you play AVI files. Don't know how well it plays w/File Browser, but I've used CineXPlayer and it works pretty well.
