accessing windows files from mac side

If I create Excel files on the Windows side (bootcamp), can I access those files from the Mac side? I basically want to send the files via Mac mail as I don't want to set up Outlook on the Windows side. I won't be opening the files, just attaching them to the email on the Mac side.

Yes you can, the Windows partition should show up on the desktop. If it's FAT formatted, you can read and write the Windows partition. If it's NTFS formatted (which will definitely be the case if you're using Vista or Win7), then you can only read it, but you'll still be able to access it.

Meaning that I can still attach it to an email and send it out?

Yes, you can still read it and copy it to your OS X partition if you want. You just can't modify it as long as it's on the Windows partition.

I ntfs-3g also and it works great if you want to write to an ntfs partition.
