Now that the MBA is out, I hope the third party Apple developers come up with some interesting products to complement the Macbook Air.

First on my wishlist is a sleek elegant laptop stand that shows off the MBA on my office desk while adding some much needed integrated USB hub.

That is actually a decent idea, BUT, being the so-called "ultra portable" I think being reliant on a desktop stand with USB ports takes away the idea of the MBAir. Then again I use my notebook as a desktop so wtf am I saying? :)

If I were in the market for another notebook I think I would like to have a CF card reader. It is simple yet oh so necessary for me when travelling.

Battery pack!
Yeah, someone should definitely make a large, flat battery pack (the sort of thing you could stick in your backpack or a suitcase) with a MagSafe connector on it, so that you could run the MBA for 8-10 hours.

We need carrying cases, obviously.

I'd also like to see someone (probably not Apple) come up with a pair of small, self-powered Bluetooth speakers.

Battery pack!

I agree.

I imagine something that looks exactly like an Apple power brick that comes with laptops, but is actually a battery. Plug it into the wall to charge the battery. 5-10 hours of battery life would be absolutely killer.

Apple hasn't licensed the Magsafe. I've gotta believe we'll see battery, but not any time soon. It was a long time in the waiting until we saw the airplane adaptor.

I hope we see it soon...

I might be tempted by a very think, light battery pack that the MBA could sit on and which wouldn't add too much thickness and height. But I probably wouldn't use it much (just my personal use).

Overall, I think the accessories are fairly well covered already. I have a WD Passport 320GB drive - tiny, light, bus powered and gives me a total of 400GB with my Air for not much more weight and size. I also have a Verizon wireless EVDO card - so I can have internet at a decent speed virtually anywhere. I have the included VGA display adapter in case I want to project a presentation. Finally I have a sleeve from Waterfield bags to carry it around without adding much bulk or weight.

The only thing I'd really like to see is a modified waterfield with a larger, padded and zippered side pocket. That would be a perfect way to carry the laptop and the accessories above in the minimal amount of weight and size. Think of all the performance packed in that tiny 5 or so lbs! 2 processors at a decent speed, 2GB of RAM, 400GB hard drive, internet everywhere, decent battery life. All in something that weighs less than a regular macbook without the power adapter.

That would defeat the whole idea of the MBA.

why not get a PB and carry an extra battery?

Not if you only use it occasionally. For example, I would like to have such a spare battery for some flights when I need or want to use it on the plane a lot but would never use it the remaining 99% of the time when carrying around.
