Hi

I have an ibook G4 and have accidentally erased ichat from it. I have tried to download it again from the website of Apple but it only gives me possibility to download the new version who is made only for Tiger....

Help please!
Many thanks

Thanks, but it doesn't let me open it

Thanks, I've tried it already but it doesn't let me open it....

Weird... Well, that's what should work. Anyway, you can try to download the program from other places, just do a google search for "iChat AV download". (They dropped the "AV" part for Tiger, so you should be able to find a link for 2.1, the last version for Panther, with this).

Otherwise, you could try to use the application Pacifist to try to install iChat from the installation discs that came with your iBook. Here's a link

Pacifist should work for it as it does for all bundled software. Seeing that iChat is one, I think you should be able to get it.

This link was posted in another thread. It's basically a mirror/archive of Apple's downloads (it should all be legal as it was/is freely available at some time). Most of them are patches, etc, but there are some full versions (such as iTunes, all the way back to version 1  ).

I guess pacifist would work, but this is still pretty cool.
