I'm pretty new to Macs. On a High Sierra OS I accidently renamed the startup folder (which is a subfolder under "User's iMac (564)") thinking it was for an external drive I had added. It is now not a subfolder under User's iMac (564). I had not set up Adm. password. I have not rebooted since this happened. Will this prevent booting now, and if so how can I fix this? Thanks.

I've been using OS X since 2004.
What's a "startup folder" ...?

Are you referring to the icon for the internal drive that's on the desktop?
If so, you can give the drive any name you like. It doesn't effect anything.
In fact, I think it's a good idea to give the drive a distinctive name. For example, I named mine "MiniBoot" so I know exactly what it is and what it's for...
