So fed up and everything with my THIRD macbook, I called AppleCare. During the 59minute phone call (over 40 of which i was on hold) the "specialist" (not tech, not a genius... a specialist) told me that he thinks it is my login apps that are causing the issue.

He then asked me what I had and i told him Growl. He said he thinks thats the problem and walked me through setting up a new account and logging in to a "fresh" account. He asked if the noise is being replicated and I explained yet again that it is not 24/7 only when I'm using it and right now I cannot really use it because I'm at work.

His advice... Use this new account and call back when the noise is being made or take it to the Apple Store. 58 minutes for that. For him to tell me it is my applications causing the problem. I had to double check the number to make sure I was speaking to tech from the correct company.

So far I have gone through 3 defective Macbooks, 6 one hour drives to the Apple Store, left work early twice to accomodate Apple Store hours, was refunded for one laptop my means of a cheque (that has still not arrived), am out around $5,000, sat on the phone for over and hour with Applecare, and still do NOT have an acceptable by any standards product. This macbook is becoming the joke of the office and its sad that it has turned alot of people who know me off from buying Apple's computers.

Just needed to rant and let you guys know, the whine and the moo could be Growl related :p... anyone else experiencing animal sounds from animal programs? lol

Gotta love those specialists. I had three of them tell me that as many different things were the cause of my incessant Kernel Panics on my PM. :D

I could never work for Apple; I'd be giving free stuff away all the time.

ah yes the irony is that as i went to awake it from sleep to get my serial number i was greeted to a kernel panic. I had to restart and the tech guy tried to focus on the kernel panic for at least 10 minutes. FInally I am like...."thats not really the issue i called in for.. i restarted.. its fine... fix my damn moo and whine lol"

Hehehe, fredwards, we have been PWNT'ED by Apple. But you deserve bragging rights since all the troubles you went through are far greater than mine!
