Since I moved from MobileMe to iCloud, I've got two accounts with Apple: one where you buy Apps from your iPhone, and the other that is in iTunes. How can I combine both?

When I sync from my computer, it only syncs the apps I bought through iTunes on my computer. But now since I transitioned over to iCloud, I can only buy apps on my me@me.com account from my iPhone. So because I am syncing via my computer and not iCloud, the apps I bought via my me.com account is not getting backed up. See the problem here? How can I be left with just one activated account?

TIA,
Mindy :)

Did you make a new iCloud ID or transition your MobileMe to iCloud? You wouldn't have separate sccounts unless you made a new iCloud ID. Your iTunes login and "app login" should be the same since your payment info is under your iTunes login. You may need to call Apple for this one to make sure it gets combined correctly.

I was migrating from MobileMe and used my me account to migrate over. I have my me account and my gmail account I am using on my desktop computer. Apple told me I could create another icloud account using my gmail account. The only problem there was my notes and reminders. So I created another icloud account for just that.

Everything is working now with the one account: gmail. In outlook I copied my notes folder to my new icloud account. The only problem is that it is not showing up on my iPhone. How do I do that?

Dern it. It can't be done! Now it's all messed up. I've got to get it to where it was before. How inconvenient!!!

You can't currently merge accounts, but you can continue to use your old Apple ID for purchases even on your phone. Just go into Settings > Store on your iPhone and sign out. You can then sign in with your old ID without affecting any of your other iCloud services.

The id for the store is the me.com id. It won't let me change it on my phone. So I have the old one I've had for years that I use on my PC which is a gmail account. And since I migrated to icloud from mobileme I have the me.com id also. I tried, with Apple's recommendation, to switch to the old one since you can't merge accounts, but there were problems with tasks and reminders and other things.

The apple tech said I could use the old gmail account as an apple id for icloud. But because of mail and tasks and other things, I created another icloud account. But then when I set it up in outlook there were problems. So I am reverting to having two accounts once again. It's all one big mess and can't seem to sync my calendar at all. I'm hoping that's all it is.

Please help if you can, I've lost my head

Okay when IOS5 came out I migrated seamlessly from MobileMe to iCloud. I had to buy Outlook at the time for $138, which I wasn't too happy about at first. Now, after all the crap of trying to get to using just one of my accounts instead of depending on two, I am trying to get back to the way it was. Because it is very problematic!!

The problem now is that in iTunes when I check the boxes to have contacts, calendars, notes, etc. to be synced via outlook, (which I paid for) it is telling me that it is being sync'd with icloud and that if I sync with outlook there would be duplicate entries. Well now I have duplicate entries! So WTH! I would just like to get back to the way it was.

I don't know what I need from y'all. Just venting at this point. Thanks for listening.

EDIT: Got it all straight, no biggie. ;)

I had no problem changing mine. I have an iCloud ID set (my old MobileMe me.com address) and a different iTunes Store ID. As I said, just sign out of it in the settings on your phone and sign in with the account you purchased your apps under.

You are exactly right. I hadn't read your first post properly. I was able to go into the store from settings and log out then log into my gmail account which is what I use on my PC. Perfect! Exactly what I wanted. Thank you.

You are very welcome. I'm surprised that the folks at Apple weren't able to help you, as it is their officially recommended solution.

Can I merge multiple Apple IDs into one?

You cannot merge two or more Apple IDs into a single one. You can, however, use one Apple ID for iCloud services and another Apple ID for store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match). See “Using one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store Purchases” above for details.
