I searched the forums for this, and didn't find anything, so I'm going to suggest it here. Let's have everyone post their account icons. I'd be interested to see what everyone chose. I'd also perhaps like to get some ideas for my own...

I just realized that many people might just use their avatars, which might make things boring, but oh well.

This one. I generally use the same I use on MR. Just haven't updated it for a while. I'll do that any day now...

I just use the 8 ball. I don't care much for personalizing as the only time I see it is on the rare occasion I log out or restart.

As you might guess, I would always prefer a "cue ball".

Nice! I'm a recent convert and have been watching Cowboy Bebop DVDs.

Which bring up a good question... why aren't account icons animated?

Hmm... Not sure. I'm guessing it would be easier to program non-animated icons, but it still seems like something very insignificant to Apple-scale programmers.

Which brings up a good question... Why would you want account icons to be animated? I think animated icons within an operating system looks cheap. On forums, it's fine, but within the operating system...?

Definitely agree with you on that one. I hate animated icons in general. If they animate when i click on them (i.e. to show that tehy were activated or something) that is one thing, but having something sitting there animating itself would drive me crazy.

I use the 8-ball, by the way.

I would not use animated icons myself, and would not want to see Apple provide them by default, but I'm sure some people would think having them is fun.

You can open many types of image, animated or not, in Safari, and icons could be given that same flexibility by Mac OS X. However, I think icons are very special files (with their masks and multiple sizes), so I doubt this will come about. We're safe from animated icons for now!

Mine is the original, no change. May change at some point. Will just have to wait and see what happens.
