For the last 2 weekn now I have not been able to sign in to iCloud keeps saying account not verified.

It then tries to verify and fails, then asks me to check my email for instructions on how to verify my account. No email ever appears. Even when I sign in on the apple site and click send verification email. Still nothing.

I am running iOS 5 GM and this happened on Beta 7 too.

Thanks for any help in advance :)

sign into here https://appleid.apple.com/ and click verify email, then check the email address and also check the spam folder.

My wife has been having the same problem and doing the above has proven useless for us (we haven't received any verification emails from Apple). I called Apple to see if they could manually send the verification email and the person I spoke with had no clue what I was talking about (he was nice though, for what that's worth). Needless to say, her account is still having this issue. Attempts to reset the password have been successful (we've received the password reset emails from Apple) but not the verification emails. Guess we'll just have to keep trying...

Same here mate, I never get the verification emails. Maybe we will after the 12th ;)

Still this thing should be working now seeing as its only 5 days till public release.

hmmmm

could you add a second email address to the apple ID and then verify that new one, remove the old one, and repeat to get the old email back verified.

also have you tried verifying it through the itunes store in itunes? you never know might work.

I changed my email address to googlemail.com from gmail.com and it worked!!!

Thanks mate awesome idea. I'm guessing that just changing it to a different email address would solve the issue.

Thanks again mate,

My wife's account is now verified as of this morning despite not making any changes to the email address associated with the Apple ID and not receiving any verification emails from Apple. Oh well. Not complaining about it.

Solved (for me)

In my case the problem was that apparently Apple's code doesn't handle the following scenario:

I have an apple ID that is my primary account where I purchase everything
I had another apple ID that I didnt know about, and that account's user ID is equal to my primary email address.

When I set up icloud Apple told me I had to switch to using an email as my user ID. So naturally I used my primary email address. But I would never receive the email verification email since that email was already being used in my other account.

Solution: Went to appleid.apple.com and logged into my apple account that had previously used my primary email, and changed that account's email address (and user ID). I use google email, and with gmail, john.doe@gmail.com and johndoe@gmail.com and john.doe@googlemail.com all resolve as the same address.

Then I was able to change the email associated with my primary apple ID (where I purchase everything) to my desired email (my primary email) and then I was finally able to verify the email address for this apple account. Then I clicked "make my userid and email address the same" or whatnot, and finished the process.

Whew...
