Account Not Verified

I upgraded my i4 to ios5 - no problem- I set up my icloud on my phone at startup with my same apple ID - everything works great on the phone except icloud- i keep getting the "check your email for instructions on how to verify your account" yet I have no email- i deleted the icloud account on the phone thinking it would send me the verification email but so far no luck- I went to the apple store and asked if there was any way around this and the guy told me to try it again in about seven days- he was obviously having a bad day- anyways, if anyone knows how to verify icloud or offer any solutions that would be great- im totally locked out of icloud- I'm not using .me- I have hosted exchange from work- everything else on my iphone 4 works great...

I havne't been on icloud yet and my calandar events are doubled- only the events like Christmas and New Years...etc.. darn it
