Just wanted to know if anyone had any experience here with Acer monitors? In particular this http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=19543&vpn=ET.2216B.0D0&manufacture=Acer
model AL2216WBD 22IN Widescreen? I will not be doing any photoshop or colour correction type work. Maybe some playing with Bryce and Carrara once my new MacPro gets here, but that is about it. Mostly I plan on using this new machine for Logic, and regular day to day computing things like web/mail and some games.

I just have not had much luck finding any decent reviews of Acer monitors, this model in particular, or Acer monitors in general.

I had the 20" widescreen and it was pretty inconsistent, there was alot out of focus areas, for instance, the left side was in focus and the right side was out of focus and vica versa.

I mean, you could try one and return it?

Rich.

For what it's worth, I have an Acer 19" AL1916W widescreen monitor that I use with my PC (not a Mac), and I think it's a pretty nice monitor for the price. I paid about $175 for it at CompUSA. It's not a GREAT monitor (I say this just because the overall 'look' of the screen image is a bit, well, not particularly 'rich') but for the price, and the fact that I have no specific issues with it, I'd say it's a darn good deal. I did calibrate it using my Monaco Optix, and so the color fidelity is reasonable.

We also have an Acer 19" monitor (not a widescreen) at our business and it gets used a LOT, and no issues with that one as well, it's quite nice, good image.

I'd thought that Acer was one of those 'low end' monitors, but the CompUSA salesperson told me that they've had no problems with them.

Good luck!
