I recently reinstalled my OS, and now I dont have any programs in the utilities folder, and when i try opening a .pkg file, it says "please choose application"

Oh, sorry.

The .pkg files contain programs but the they are only files, they need the installer program to open them. So you get the Installer program on your computer, and then you'll be able to double click the .pkg's and they'll run. Just like you need MS Word to open a .doc file.

can you IM me and walk me through this? my screename (aim) is derajfast

when i insert the disc, i open it, and then click install bundled software only

but i tihnk its a .pkg file, so i dont have the program to install that

ok well i my external drive bootable....so i copied the installer and disk utility from that user/apps/utils and put it on my internals one, but activity monitor wont work......and i dont see where i can add all those utilities

these are the options i get when i click on "install bundled software only"
