ACMT 9L0-011 Exam

I took this test last week and there are a lot of questions on mine that were involving Apple's diagnostic software that you can not find anything about on the web.

It sort of feels like they are forcing you to buy the Apple Technician Training for $300 just to pass the exam.

Could anyone shed a little more light on these questions and where I could find info on Apple's diagnostic tools?

I took the ACMT tests as an employee of an AASP, I had all the documentation I could need available to me through GSX. While I imagine this doesn't really help your question, I imagine the $300 training package includes the same documentation. If Apple is going to charge a princely sum for the training needed to pass the exam, it wouldn't exactly be in their interest to make the info readily available, now would it?

I took that very test a couple of weeks ago. Have a few tabs open, have GSX loaded up, ATLAS, and be ready to search GSX for the correct service manual your question is referring to. From there cmd + F is your friend for finding the exact phrases the questions are asking for.

I dont have access to GSX since I am just taking the test and our company is not a self-service company yet.

And I do not have access to ATLAS because I do not want to buy the $300 training package.

Seems like I may be at a standstill for right now.

Oh jeeze I'm sorry, I work for a university and I just assumed that users have access to those systems. Sorry

All of the training materials for the ACMT (and related product) certifications are located on GSX, which links to the same training portals as Apple's technician training package.

In short, there is nothing officially available (material that can be proven to be accurate) unless you spend the $300 or know someone that has access to the system. Beyond that, I'm pretty sure the TOS we all agreed to when signing up to post here would prevent us from guiding you in the direction of the illegally-posted material.

The Apple Pro Training Series books by Peachpit have an OS X Support Essentials title that is updated each year as new operating systems are released. That would be a good source of training for the software part of the ACMT exams. The hardware side though you really need access to Apple's training guides and hardware repair guides. As far as I know (as someone who has been ACMT certified since 2008 and have worked for Apple and AASPs) these resources are only available from Apple.

I'm not sure you can find legal "hardware guides" that will have the material needed to pass the exam, unless you buy the $300 Apple training material. I can't say that for certain as I have access to Apple's internal training site for AASP's (GSX) so I have no need to go looking for it.
