Acrobat 6 Reader Problems.....

Hope someone can advise me here....I installled Acrobat reader 6.0 ( off a Macworld CD ) - to see how it was and to keep upto date - it installed, and then told me some files needed to be fixed - I
pressed OK. It then installed with no problem, and seemed too work fine - but--- when I take a screenshot now, it is saved to desktop ass an Acrobat 6 file, instead of a Preview pdf file as it used to be save as. - I looked into preferences in both programs, but found no clues. I would like to go back to screenshots being save as Preview files-its a small and fast program - but other than that would also like to keep Acrobat 6 - any thoughts / suggestions???

ps - how/when do I stop being a ' Newbie ' ??

Ok all you need to do is re-assign the default application to open.pdfs. Next time you take a screenshot right click or ctrl click the pdf, then open with, then other. Find the preview app and hit "always open with" and select the proper preview program and boom your set


your only a newbie for a short while, if you want more of the ranks or quick answers to simpler questions, I suggest you run a search, If you don't find anything searching then its time for a new thread

thanks for the tip - o' demi-god ( bows down softly chanting ) This works, but only for the one file - do you know any way to make all future screenshots open in Preview, as they used to do

hmm I forgot the other way to change it system wide... right click on any pdf icon and click "get into" then expand the open with icon downwards, select preview and hit changeall, now all you have to do is logout or restart your machine and the changes will be put into luck. Good Luck


oh yeah, no more mugs, just donations, the mugs were discontinued
