Acrobat hangs on M2 Mac

M2 Pro Mac mini, MacOs 14.1.2, Adobe Acrobat Pro 2023.006.20380. Opening any file causes it to beachball irretrievably and Activity Monitor says Acrobat is using 98.8% of CPU usage! Opening Acrobat on its own works OK.

You could try to uninstall and reinstall it.

This isn’t what you asked, but you might reconsider the need for Acrobat. In my opinion, Acrobat is bloated and not easy to use. Preview does almost everything Acrobat does.
