activate Office 2016 with key only

Hi,

I got Office 2016 for Mac (key and installation file) using the MS home use program. I would like to install Office without creating a MS account by just entering the key. MS Office for Windows offers this option during installation but I could not see such an option on the mac version. Does anybody know how to activate Office 2016 using the key only?

when I did it I clicked on I think create account, then gives you option to skip creating account.

something like that, I did it in office on my windows machine too as was selling it and did not want it linked to my account.

So you installed Office 2016 on a mac without creating an account? I remember also clicking on "create account" and tried to find a link/button for skipping but without success.
 
I have office 2016 on my Mac yes. not yet on my iMac and I got 3 user license will try tonite and report back.
 
Did you find some time to check? I installed Office 2016 on my Mac Pro yesterday (again) and could not find any option for entering the key when klicking on "create account". :(
 
I don't know your reason for not wanting to create a MS account (that's up to you of course), however, creating an account with Office 365 or 2016 gives you 100 GB of storage on OneDrive. Something to consider if you need off site storage in the cloud.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with your car! Did you have a chance to check the Office activation meanwhile?

will be doing it tonight. the Mac was going do it on played up so I finished a reinstall last nite.

Thank's for checking! Unfortunately I have the "standard" version. It's interesting to know that an Enterprise version works at home. I always thought that you need a license server for that.

I bought it from ebay it allows 3 activations.

all of which I have used.

yes it is genuine and not cracked as I was emailed a direct link to MS site to download the installer.

It is now on my iMac, my MacBook and my fiancee MacBook Air.
I need to remove it from one of these if I wish to install on another machine I was told by seller.
