Activation at an ATT Store?

Will any activation occur at an ATT store or is ALL ACTIVATION done via iTunes.

I did watch the video and I DO understand that at an Apple Store you much activate via iTunes.

Only if ATT (or Apple) offer kiosks for buyers to activate in-store.

According to my local newspaper, one will not be able to open the box inside the Apple or ATT store leading me to think all activation is done via iTunes.
